Ohope sunset

Pohutukawa
So, as we enjoy a white, wintry Christmas in Northeast Oregon, the gorgeous Pohutukawa trees greet the Christmas season in New Zealand. As seasons pass here, they are just beginning in the Southern Hemisphere, and vice versa. The only constant is God. Both the genuine joy and the artificial happiness of Christmas have passed, as do the seasons. However, because God indeed remains and abides with us, we are not swept along in time without any handholds. Instead, He continually allows us a place with HIm to rest and restore ourselves. "Those who turn to Him will be radiant with joy." Psalm 34:5

This is one incredible beach location on North Island. It lies two hour's southwest of Gisbourne and remains relatively undiscovered. This is a place to retreat to, "far from the maddening crowd."

Kere Falls
This waterfall is a \"must place\" to visit. Wide and broad, inviting to swim below the falls, or walk behind them, this falls is fun to explore. Young children, however, MUST BE CLOSELY WATCHED. The falls look so inviting, but you need to be a good swimmer to avoid danger. It is located out of Gisborne

Surf's Up at Ohope Beach
After a winter storm in the Bay of Plenty, a heavy surf draws surfers to the waves near the cape at the west end of Ohope Beach.
