Pacific Crest Trail
The Pacific Crest Trail travels 2650 miles from the California-Mexico border to the Washington-Canada border. Whether one thru hikes or section hikes, days are filled with profound rhythms of body, mind, and soul.
Kansas
The horizons of Kansas are limitless. Whereas the ocean air is great to breathe and the sand great to walk, Kansas gives you 360 degrees to enjoy both sunrises and sunsets, as well as incredible thunderstorms and rainbows.
New Zealand, South Island
South Island--beach sunsets, majestic snow covered peaks, awesome fiords plus penguins, porpoises, fur seals, and sea lions, and great birds. How does one describe what is more incredible than incredible?? The best I can do is the richness of plot and scenery in Lord of the Rings.
Scripture Images
The psalmist writes, “the earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.” The essential component of my photographic efforts is simply to be in praise, thanksgiving and wonder of God as I seek unique moments of light, color and composition. Within that frame of mind, incredible things hap
New Zealand, North Island
I would be hard pressed to choose between North and South Island if I could only visit one during a visit to New Zealand. The Southern Alps are gorgeous, but the volcanic sites of North Island are mysterious.
Oregon
From ocean coast to high mountains, from high desert to fertile valleys, Oregon offers a delightful spectrum of landscapes.
Alleys of La Grande
We tend to see life most often from the front: we see sidewalks and storefronts. However, the alley side of La Grande, or any community, presents a unique way of seeing the city.
New England
Regardless of the season, or the location-beach to mountains, New England never ceases to be a visual banquet.
Work
Outside of Otavolo lies a a small township, Carabuela. The roads are unpaved: dusty when dry, muddy when wet. Amidst the simple houses of mainly Quechua Indians is a small children's center that Secondo, a Quechua native runs for children whose parents work long hours of the day. in
Flowers
Flowers are an incredible representation of this planets diversity and the beauty of creation. They may fade and die, but they are always there for another season.
Water
I love moving water. From brooks and creeks, to rivers and waterfalls, one can become absorbed a range of moods. Water is like a dance, both in sound and in movement, from placid, calm waltzes to pulsating, chaotic disco.
National Parks
How fortunate we are in this country, not only to enjoy its natural beauty, but to have the wisdom to preserve it for all people for all generations. The line from America the Beautiful always resonates in my soul when I visit a National Park: "America, America, God shed His grace on
Sunrise, Sunset, Skies
Weather stimulates, weather calms, weather reminds us how puny we are against the forces of nature. Wherever we are, the sun, clouds, rain, wind, rainbows follow us, connecting us to where we are, where we have been, and where we are going--and all of this beyond our control.

Winter
Whether in color or black and white, winter in northeast Oregon offers great outdoor activities and photo opportunities.
Odds and Ends
I often take pictures that are abstract, or whimsical, or "off the beaten track" that do not fit any particular category. Here are some of them.
Great Falls Discovery Center
I have enjoyed putting this show together. I owe the opportunity for these pictures to son Michael and his wife Sara. They live near Concord, NH. Meg and I have traveled there from NE Oregon many times, most often in the fall. The scenery is always outstanding.
